Make/Model: ’74 Chevy Blazer
Estimated Value: $23,000
Build time: On going
Owner: Robert Butterfield
Hometown: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Occupation: Government Contractor
Years wheeling experience: 15
Favorite wheelin’ spots: Southern Arizona
Why did you chose this vehicle to build? It chose me, it just popped off the lot and the price was right
Favorite terrain: Mild to aggressive trails, sand dunes and washes
Engine: ZZ 383 GM performance crate. 425hp---449 ft lbs torque
Aspiration: Using an Edelbrock 750cfm for break in, 750cfm Barry Grant Demon bolting on soon
Transmission: TH350
Transfer case: NP203
Front axle/diff: Stock
Rear axle/diff: Stock
Ring & Pinion: 3.73:1
Front suspension: Rancho leaf 2” lift, dual shocks per wheel w/ dual steering stabilizers
Rear suspension: Rancho leaf 2” lift, dual shocks per wheel
Wheels: 17” Pro Comp Extreme Alloy, gloss black powder coat
Tires: 33 x 12.50 Dick Cepek Baja Claw
Other cool stuff: LG1 Corbeau reclining buckets front seats, 42” Corbeau Baja Bench in the rear, 4 point Simpson racing belts.
Favorite mods: Enough chrome in the engine bay to attract large mouth Bass and fellow Rednecks from 3 States away. March Performance “Style Track” serpentine system, chrome Power brake booster w/ master cylinder, chrome LMC truck fender wells, chrome “Be Cool” dual electric fan system, “Be Cool” Aluminum radiator.
Least favorite mods: Shoulda bought bigger tires.
If I had to build it again…. Alpine Stereo system w/ JBL speakers is next. Then once I make up my mind what color, a new paint job and custom interior. But I won’t rest until I do a complete body off and have the frame inspected for wear and tear then powder coated. And last but not least….. more chrome.

jallen2: LOL.. yeah I am a bit obsessive about washing and waxing it; it only takes about a 12 pack to detail. I don't wheel it as often as I should, with the recent engine change I'd like to get past the break in. Moderate trails and washes are in its future though, I want to take some action shots of it in the car wash, I mean river bed.

Chevy Racing 6990: I agree, need to measure to make sure she'll fit in the garage with a 6" but also high enough to crush the little tuner cars with coffee can exhaust.
